Cylinder head for internal combustion engines.
It is known to use several bolts or a plate made of copper or other highly thermally conductive material in the walls of the cylinder heads, which are made of gray cast iron or other material of lower thermal conductivity, so that these parts penetrate the cylinder wall and with it
Points, ribs or the like protrude as far as possible into the cooling space (water jacket or the air space surrounding the cylinder head). In the known facilities is aimed at the
To make end faces of these bodies facing the combustion chamber as close as possible to one another, which is achieved either by upsetting the ends until they touch one another or by coating the combustion chamber surfaces with a galvanic copper deposit.
This design achieves the same good heat dissipation from the combustion chamber at all points, that is to say also at points where high temperatures are desired.
It is also known to use a heat-dissipating plate in the cylinder head above the piston. However, this is not sufficient to achieve the desired effect, namely to dissipate the heat where it is harmful and to enable compression ratios that go beyond those previously achieved.
According to the invention, the highly thermally conductive material is arranged above the exhaust valves and above the piston, in which case the arrangement above the exhaust valves may also be sufficient; In both cases it is essential that the material reaches right up to the valves or the piston in order to achieve particularly strong cooling.
In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject invention is shown, u. between a shows the cylinder head, b the cooling water space, c the cylinder block, a! and d'the heat-dissipating inserts, e the exhaust valve and i the piston.
As can be seen from the drawing, parts d and d between them leave free wall parts formed by the material of the cylinder head.
It can also be seen that the bodies d, (7 ′ of high thermal conductivity protrude beyond the wall formed by the cylinder head material.
By means of this measure according to the invention, the area for the heat transfer from the fuel gases to the bodies d, d 'can be significantly increased.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Cylinder head for Brennkraftmasehinen, whose wall, which delimits the combustion chamber and consists of material of lower thermal conductivity, is penetrated sealingly by highly thermally conductive bodies, which advantageously protrude into the cooling chamber with bolts, ribs or the like Thermal conductivity can be arranged at certain points in the combustion chamber, u. between above the exhaust valve and, if necessary, also above the piston, the heat conducting bodies extending right up to the parts mentioned and leaving wall parts formed by the material of the cylinder head free between them.
