Description
Internal combustion engine with lubricating oil cooler The invention relates refers to an internal combustion engine with a lubricating oil cooler, and essentially consists in that the machined connection surface of one of the halves of the horizontal approximately at the height of the crankshaft split engine frame protrudes over the wandering half and the lubricant oil cooler avoiding pipelines at .these protruding Terminal surface is connected, the abutting surfaces of the lubricating oil cooler and motor frame coinciding passages for the passage of lubricating oil and have cooling water. In this way, pipelines within the lubricating oil circuit and Pipe connections, which can give rise to malfunctions, avoided entirely, with also pipelines for the -in we-case advised. The linier oil cycle as well the cooling water is now routed via the shortest route within the motor frame or the motor itself. The invention offers a further advantage in that no special. Machining of the motor frame for the connection of the lubricating oil cooler is necessary because this is to the dividing surface of the engine rock, which anyway must be processed, is connected. Even if this is the area to be processed larger than usual, this hardly plays a role in manufacture, since it is it is the same surface with the same clamping and tool setting is processed. Another advantage of the invention is that it is spatially favorable Arrangement of the oil cooler to behold. This benefit comes in particular bbi engines with V-shaped cylinders come into their own which one the arranged in the manner according to the invention lubricating oil cooler in no way the the overall width of the engine due to the engine cylinder. With such V-engines the lubricating oil cooler is advantageously connected to the connection surface of the upper Frame half flanged.
Pipelines between the lubricating oil cooler and the lubricating oil filter can also be avoided entirely in that the lubricating oil filter is designed as a cover which closes one end of the lubricating oil cooler. According to the invention the Schmierölkii'hler, with a heating device, conveniently an electric, may be formed in the water room of the lubricating oil cooler radiator used, so that at the start, when the lubricating oil is still thick, the heated 01 and thus dangerous for the motor period during which the lubrication is impaired by the too high viscosity of the oil, can be largely reduced.
In the drawing, the invention is based on an example explained schematically.
Fig. I shows an end view of a diesel engine with a V-shaped arrangement Cylinders, the lubricating oil cooler being shown in section along line 1-I of FIG is; Figure 2 shows a side view of the engine with the lower part of the frame in section along line 11-1I and the upper part in section along line II'-II ', drawn is.
The engine frame is horizontal at approximately the same height as the crankshaft divided, the pad i of the upper frame half 2 laterally over the connecting surface 3 of the lower frame half 4 protrudes. To the pad i the oil cooler is connected to light.
The lubricating oil is supplied to the lubricating oil cooler by a gear pump 6, which is also connected to the connection surface i, via a channel 7 provided in the frame half 2. From the canal? passes the lubricating oil through a bore 8 of the lubricating oil cooler and a öffnung9 into the space io between the outer wall 1 in the lubricating oil cooler and a finned tube 12, which contains (las cooling water. The fins 13 of the finned tube 12 have slots 14 through which pass through the 01 can. Dis thus cooled lubricating oil passes through a bore 1.5 in the space 16 of the lubricating oil filter, which has a front side of the oil cooler in the manner of a lid closes. after passing through the filter 17, passes the cooled and cleaned 01, its direction of flow through Arrows are indicated, via a bore 18 of the filter housing and a channel 19 of the motor frame 2 to a collecting channel 2o, from which it is fed through channels 21 to the various lubrication points.
It is therefore a short circuit line 22, 23 is provided, which is closed by a spring-loaded valve 24, so that when the closing pressure of valve 24 (read from the gear pump 6 01 delivered under LTinput of the lubricating oil cooler (learn filter 17 supplied can be.
The cooling water is fed through a line 25 from the inner rhombus of the lube oil cooler and passes through a channel 26 into the cooling water space 27 of the lube at the other end of the lubricating oil cooler. An electric heater 29 heated by a heating coil 28 can be inserted into the water space of the finned tube 1 2. This Ileizkörper 29 has a flange 30 which can be placed in a simple manner as a cover on a front end of the oil cooler as an Al) -schluss.deckel. This electric heating element enables the lubricating oil flowing through the oil cooler to be heated during the start-up period, in order to reduce the excessively high viscosity of the oil at low temperatures.
