Winding device for the production of spiral springs.
In the commercial production of spiral springs from 0-20 to 4 mm wire thickness, so-called winding timbers are used, which are used to guide the wire during the winding, but after a short period of use due to the soft nature of the wood on the one hand quickly worn out and thus unusable and on the other hand can only one type of feathers can be wrapped.
According to the invention, the insert forming the winding bed is made of steel and is arranged on the wire feed so that it can be rotated and locked. On the one hand, this has the advantage of greater resistance; on the other hand, the twistability of the steel insert can generate tension and compression springs.
The object of the invention is shown in the drawing. The drill head h, which is operated by a force, actuates the spindle i (FIG. 1) on which the wire i moves helically according to whether tension or compression springs are to be wound, and on the one hand by
EMI1.1
becomes. The steel insert c, which can be adjusted by means of the adjusting screw b, is set in the angular degree as shown in FIG. 1 for tension springs d and FIG are to be generated, are fixed on the wire feed part a by means of screws.
The purpose of the wire guide grooves in the winding bed k is to continue to steer the wire on the spindle i in a helical manner if the guide clamps e, f, g are loosened. This achieves a double guidance where the grooves in the winding bed k represent the nut and the turns running in the grooves represent the screw thread, so that an uneven winding of the wire onto the spindle is excluded. A double guidance, as it appears through the grooves in the changing bed, could not be achieved with the earlier devices made of wood due to the inadequate quality of the material.
The resilience of the steel insert also enables the use of a number of revolutions of 6000 per minute, which represents a considerable increase in performance compared to the earlier devices, which had to work with much smaller revolutions.
