Schalplatte.
Stoffe in Betracht.

Formwork panel.
It has been found that particularly high-quality records are obtained by using molding compounds for their production, the main binder of which is obtained by polymerizing vinyl compounds with the addition of waxes or wax-like substances, optionally in
Presence of solvents, or which consist entirely of such a water-containing polymerization product. Molding compounds of this type can be calendered to sheets in the usual way, after which the sheets are heated and then pressed between them at an elevated temperature
Provides matrices with sound grooves in the usual way.
The records obtainable in this way are characterized by a surprising hardness and an extremely low degree of brittleness and brittleness. They do not bake together even at high temperatures when stacked. They are extremely insensitive to moisture and chemical agents.
Polyvinyl compounds usually only take up 1-2% wax or waxy bodies in a reasonably homogeneous manner. However, it has been found that macroscopically homogeneous combinations with, for example, 3-20% content of wax u. The like. Can be produced if the waxes or the wax-like substances are added to monomeric vinyl compounds or their solutions and the polymerization is carried out in their presence.
Examples of monomeric vinyl compounds are the esters of vinyl alcohol, in particular vinyl acetate and vinyl chloride, acrylic acid esters, itaconic acid esters, styrene and the like. Like. Or mixtures thereof
Substances into consideration.
The various natural waxes, such as beeswaehs, carnaubawaehs, palm wax, etc., but also synthetic waxes and substances with similar properties, such as ceresin, ozokerite, paraffin, wallrat and the like, can be used as waxes. Like. Or mixtures of such bodies, use.
The waxy additives can be mixed with the vinyl compounds by dissolving them directly in them, especially at elevated temperatures. But you can also use solvents, such as esters, hydrocarbons, and carry out the polymerization of the mixture in their lap.
If you want to use particularly large amounts of wax and the vinyl compounds. Like., For example 20-50%, incorporate or produce transparent combinations instead of the cloudy in the polymerized state, solubilizers are added to the mixture. Examples of such resins are resins, synthetic resins, rubber, fatty acid phthalides and the like. like. into consideration. These additions can be made both before and after the polymerization.
The properties of the combinations obtainable in this way can be modified before or after the polymerization by adding other plastic substances such as nitrocellulose or cellulose acetate, or plasticizers such as phthalates, powdery or fibrous fillers, pigments and the like. Like., largely adapted to the respective intended use.
Example 1: A mixture of 950 parts of vinyl acetate, 50 parts of beeswax, 500 parts of benzene and 9'5 parts of benzoyl peroxide is boiled for three hours on a reflux condenser. Evaporation in vacuo gives 990 of a macroscopically homogeneous, porcelain-like colored polymer. If appropriate, this product is ideally suited for the production of records after incorporating appropriate fillers.
Example 2: 100 parts of vinyl chloride, dissolved in 900 parts of acetone, are stirred with 10 parts of carnauba wax and 1% benzoyl peroxide to dissolve and the sunlight until polymerization
