Rail fastening for the creation of a drift-proof and wandering railway track.
A railway track that is operationally reliable under the heaviest loads requires a rail fastening that meets the following four main requirements:
1. Hiking safety (immovable connection between rail and sleeper),
2. Rejection security,
3. Tolerance of the sleeper position with regard to the angle between rail and sleeper and
4. Avoidance of harmful bending preloads through installation.
The previously known superstructures only ever meet some of these requirements. For example, all clamping plate superstructures are not migration-proof and warp-proof. They only meet the requirements under 3 and 4. In the self-tensioning superstructure, in which the rails are held at their feet in connection with clamping pieces acting like a toggle joint between hook-like attachments on the base plates or iron sleepers, the conditions under 3 and 4 are not sufficient. There

additional time required for track construction. It is therefore not suitable for conversions while maintaining full operation. The previously known types of wedge superstructures mostly only meet the requirements under 1 and 3.
However, they are not fault-proof, as the necessary rigid connection between the rails and sleepers is missing. There is no frame or framework stiffness.
Furthermore, strong bending stresses can arise from the installation.
The wedge superstructure explained below avoids these deficiencies according to the invention in that the corresponding design of the fastening means creates statically clear force relationships between the rail and sleeper. In this way, rails (as girders) and sleepers (as posts) form a rigid and therefore non-warping framework. Harmful bending preloads are definitely avoided.
The rail fastening consists in that between the rail foot and hook-shaped

shaped shape for the clear transmission of the clamping forces are created. The at least three contact surfaces make it possible that the connection between the rail and the sleeper or base plate forms an angularly rigid node to form a framework. There are also the

is available.
In FIGS. 1-16, various exemplary embodiments of the rail fastening are shown in cross-section and plan section. Figures 17 and 18 illustrate a detail.
In all examples, a bar sleeper with a hook nose 2 and 3 formed by a known rolling and pressing process is provided to accommodate the rail foot and its fastening means.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
took. It can be. also use base plates with appropriately designed noses for the rails. The rail designated by 1 engages with its foot under the hook nose 2 on the one hand in FIG. 1. The clamping piece 5 is inserted on the opposite hook nose 3, the flank 4 of which runs obliquely to the threshold axis. As a result of the arch-like design of the nose flank 2 ′ opposite the rail foot in plan view, the threshold can easily be incorporated in its angular position to the rail.
In order to fix the clamping piece 5, which is driven forward with a press fit, the wedge-shaped locking piece 7 is likewise driven in with a press fit between the clamping piece handle 6 and the rail foot edge. For the point contact between the clamping piece 5 and the rail foot on the one hand and the locking piece 7 on the other hand, the clamping piece 5 is provided with the curved flanks 8 and 9. The rail is therefore fixed in three points opposite the surfaces 2 ', 8 and 9. The clamping piece 5 has in
Cross section through the apex of the bulge 9 has an approximately X-shaped shape, while the closure piece 7 shows a V-shaped cross section.
The notching effect of the locking piece 7 through the V-shaped cross-section aims to increase the frictional pressure on the contacting surfaces at 10 and 11 of the clamping piece, so that the wedge shape of the locking piece 7 may have a fairly strong tightening.
3 and 4 also show the hooked nose 2 instead of a curved flank 2 'with a flank 2' which also runs obliquely to the threshold axis. Between this flank and the rail foot, the clamping piece 5 'with the bulges 8' and 9 'and the locking piece 7' as the same parts 5 and 7 are arranged on the opposite rail foot side. As a result, the rail 1 is fixed in four points opposite the surfaces 8, 9, 8 'and 9'. This type of construction is particularly important when there are special demands on the torque transmission of the junction on strongly curved tracks.
The design of the hooked nose 3 of the sleeper receiving the clamping piece 5 differs in FIGS. 5 and 6 from the examples explained in that it shows a curvature 4 'which is symmetrical to the sleeper axis. The radius of the curvature can be relatively small, so that the wedge-shaped part "of the clamping piece 5" touches the curvature 4 'with a fairly large angle of inclination. Space is left between the clamping piece stem 6 'and the bulge 4' for driving in the locking piece 7 ', which in this case comes into point contact with the bulge 4'; the definition of the rail 1 takes place here again in three points. Like the clamping piece, the locking piece in this design also has a V-shaped cross section.
The opposite hook nose 2 shows the curvature 2 'again in the horizontal section.
FIGS. 7 and 8 show the use of the clamping piece and locking piece 7 ′ according to FIGS. 5 and 6 on both sides of the rail foot, whereby the rail is clamped in an angularly rigid manner at four points. The hook nose 2 is shaped accordingly in its width and flank curvature 2 ′ of the hook nose 3 with the curved flank 4 ′.
9 and 10 bring another solution in such a way that instead of a clamping piece
EMI2.1
Parts 5 "'to the curved flank 4' of the hook nose 3. This results in that the rail 1 in any inclined position of the threshold over the fitting piece 5", 5 "'on two precisely marked contact surfaces on the bulge 4' after driving in the locking wedge 7 ″ on the opposite side between the rail foot and the curvature 2 ′ of the hook nose 2 and thus must be clamped again between three points.
The proposal according to FIGS. 11 and 12 shows a simplification of the fastening parts. Two independent, strongly wedge-shaped clamping jaws 5 '"with an elliptical cross-section, for example, serve as fastening elements opposite the curvature 4' of the hook nose 3 the rail 1 resting against the curvature 2 'of the hook nose 2, the individual wedge jaws 5' "are driven in with the hammer. The head screw 12, which is subsequently guided through a hole in one clamping jaw and screwed into the thread of the other clamping jaw, serves as a safeguard against automatic loosening. The screw itself does not take part in the rail clamping, it only has to replace the missing self-locking of the wedges.
In the proposal according to FIGS. 13 and 14, it is decisive that the opposite pressure flanks are again provided on a uniform clamping piece 5 ". This clamping piece has a split handle, the wings 6", 6 '"of which are spread apart by the driving in of the wedge-shaped locking piece 7' One wing 6 "'is pressed against the curvature 4' of the hook nose 3 and the other wing 6" against the rail foot. The locking piece 7 'is wedge-shaped not only in a horizontal, but also in a vertical plane high contact pressure on the wedge flanks 13 and 14 ensures that the wedge, which according to its shape is not self-locking, does not come loose by itself.
This property is further increased by the fact that the wedge-shaped locking piece 7 ′ still rests on the third surface 15 of the hook nose 3. In order to increase the resistance to movement of the connection, projections 16 known per se are provided on the wing 6 ″ of the clamping piece 5 ″, which, when the wedge-shaped locking piece 7 ′ is driven in, press into the rail foot and thus bring about a bulky form fit. The closure piece 7 'must consist of a harder material in order to fulfill the last-mentioned tasks. In order to be able to loosen the connection again easily, the locking piece 7 'for

9 and 10 show an embodiment in which the position of the clamping points on the curve 4 'of the hook nose 3 is first determined by means of the clamping piece 5 "and then the node is to be brought under tension by driving in the locking wedge 7". This solution, however, presupposes that the friction conditions between the clamping piece 5 ″ and the bulge 4 'allow the clamping piece to be brought in. The preconditions for this, however, are not always given. This is countered with an embodiment of the rail fastening according to FIGS. 15 and 16. Using a clamping piece 5 ″ with a locking piece 7 ″ on the other side of the rail foot, the clamping points are initially scanned even with a certain inclined position of the sleeper.
This is done in such a way that after the rail has been placed on the sleeper, the clamping piece 5 "with the wedge attachment 5 '"' is pushed in until it rests against the arch 4 / the hook nose 3, whereupon a mating wedge 17 'also rests is inserted into the bulge 4 '. When the locking wedge 7' 'is subsequently driven in between the rail foot and the bulge 2' of the hook nose 2, three contact points of the rail-sleeper junction come under tension.
In order to maintain the tension of the system more effectively, the locking wedge 7 ″ can be designed as a resilient member, and so on, so that the tensioning forces are transmitted without stressing the suspension. For this purpose, the locking wedge has a shape according to FIGS. 17 and 18. FIG. 17 shows the wedge in a relaxed state, whereas in FIG. 18 it is shown after it has been driven in between the curvature 2 ′ and
EMI3.2
To spring sehlusskeil towards its ends, where it is provided with lugs 18, which, based on the surface plane 19 of the wedge middle part 20, protrude somewhat and rest on the rail foot. When the wedge 7 ″ is driven in until its middle part 20 comes to rest against the arch 2 ′ and the rail foot 21, the noses 18 are pushed back and the wedge ends are thereby brought under bending stress.
This pretensioning thus obtained ensures that there is always static friction between the locking wedge 7 ″ and the foot 21 of the rail 1, so that an automatic loosening of the connection is made significantly more difficult by the constant operational vibrations.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Rail fastening for the production of a non-warping and wandering railway track by means of wedge-shaped clamping means opposite the rail foot located between the hook-shaped approaches of the sleeper or base plate, characterized in that the direct and / or indirect clamping of the longitudinal edges of the rail between the lateral, hook-shaped noses supporting flanks with at least three having point-shaped contact surfaces.
