Biaxial multiple joint for supports of ladders or the like.
The invention consists of a main shaft that can swing against the ladder and has straight or curved joint shafts for two or more supports including their associated bearings. In some cases, the bearings are also arranged in the swingable part of the joint, the ladders and the supports supporting the main shaft and the pivot shafts or half-journals.
In the drawing, FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show schematically the arrangement according to the invention in a view,
Side view and floor plan, partly in section. A ladder e, which rests on the three supports d with the joint a, b, is broken off. The main shaft a is firmly connected to the pin shaft b, which carries the bearings of the supports d as a mandrel or tang. It is essential that all supports are mounted on one axis with at least three attacking bearings (Fig. 3). If only two supports are used, either at least one support has two bearings, which include a bearing of the other support on either side or it overlaps on the spigot shaft (Fig. 4, g), or one of the two supports carries a bearing representing several directional, hollow shaft (Fig. 5, h).
In the embodiments indicated by FIGS. 5 and 6, the main shaft axis and the power take-off shaft axis intersect directly at the apex, so that here both geometric axes lie in one plane. In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the main shaft e is attached to the ladder, the tang swings with the bearing f and the two two-tier supports with four bearings overlap the pin shaft. According to FIG. 5, one support k carries a hollow shaft h which surrounds the pin shaft m of the other support i in the form of bearings with slots.
The hollow shaft h lies in the bearing n, which forms the joint with the bearing o for the main shaft. A practical embodiment is shown in FIG. 6, in which the two axes lie in a T-shaped double shaft p and q, the ladder swings around the main shaft p and the supports t and w swing like a wing around the pin shaft q.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Biaxial multiple joint for supports of ladders or the like. Characterized in that the main shaft (a) mounted on the ladder at right angles, straight or curved, common pin shafts (b) for all supports, the retention of the axis of such Spigot shaft (b, q, m) is provided in a fixed position by three mutually engaging single-bearing supports (d), or by two supports, of which at least one support (t) carries two overlapping bearings or a hollow shaft (h) as a half-pin .
