Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Sauerstoff.
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Slot burner for surface hardening of workpieces made of steel, preferably with acetylene
Oxygen.
EMI1.1
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Length l and width d. The length I is selected according to the width of the workpiece to be hardened.
The width d is extremely small and in one embodiment, for example, is only 0.3 mm.
Between the gas inlet point b and the outlet slot c there is a transition channel g which is delimited in a longitudinal section (FIG. 1) by diverging walls and in a longitudinal section perpendicular thereto (FIG. 2) by converging walls. The burner head can be thickened for better heat dissipation (Fig. 2,6) and also contain channels i for water cooling (Fig. 1-4). A channel joins the transition channel g towards the mouth, which has parallel walls on the narrow sides to the length n1, which is approximately equal to or greater than the width of the slot of the burner, and on the broad sides also parallel or at first slightly converging and only in the last Part (length n2) has parallel walls.
In special cases, the parallel tours? 1 and n2 have the same lengths. By appropriately choosing the expansion or tapering of the channel g, it is possible to increase the flow cross-section compared to the inlet cross-section at b, which is normally larger than the outlet cross-section of the slot e, and then reduce it again. However, the configuration is also possible in such a way that the flow cross section of the channel decreases continuously from the inlet cross section at b to the outlet cross section at c.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Slot burner for surface hardening of workpieces made of steel, preferably with acetylene oxygen with a channel which tapers in the longitudinal section in the direction of the mouthpiece and widens in the longitudinal section perpendicular thereto, characterized in that this channel is followed by a mouthpiece, the channel of which on the narrow sides on a Length, which is approximately equal to or greater than the slot width of the burner, has parallel walls.
