Spring-loaded front wheel bearings for bicycles and motorcycles.

The subject of the invention relates to a device in which a spiral spring arranged around the axis of the front wheel resiliently mounts the front wheel, the axis of the front wheel also being connected to the ends of the front fork by means of cranks provided on both sides. According to the invention, the sleeve receiving the spiral spring is connected to the fender by rods which prevent the sleeve from rotating. In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the wheel hub: FIG. 2 illustrates the connection of the axle to the front wheel fork in a front view, FIG. 3 shows a cross section through the bushing; Fig. 4 shows the arrangement of the invention on the front wheel on a small scale.

The coil spring b is wrapped around the front wheel axis c and is surrounded by a sleeve a.

The spiral spring is connected on the one hand to the axis c and on the other hand to the sleeve a. At the ends of the axle cranks k are keyed, which are articulated in connection with the front fork. The sleeve a is surrounded by a second sleeve a1, the ball bearing being arranged between the two sleeves. Closing pieces n, which are held together by the cranks k, serve to close the sleeve at the ends. To enable the cranks to swing out, recesses s of the appropriate size are provided in the locking pieces. If the spiral spring breaks, the cranks then rest against the lower limit of the recess.

When installing the hub in the wheel, the spiral spring must be given a certain tension. This is done by turning the cranks several times before they come into contact with the fork until the spiral spring receives the correct tension. But it would be de-energized if the sleeve a were not detectable. The rods r, which are screwed into the bushing at one end and which are firmly connected to the fender at the other end, serve to determine the position.
