Druckgasschalter.

Gas pressure switch.
For the trouble-free operation of a pressurized gas switch, it is necessary to quickly increase the contact distance until it has reached the zone that is favorable for extinguishing. The movable contact should then remain within the favorable extinguishing zone until the deletion is complete and the stroke should then be able to be increased further to the distance required for permanent isolation of the voltage.
It is already known to bring the contact movement to a standstill after a certain stroke has been reached and to continue it again later. However, this mode of operation has the disadvantage that the cheapest release stroke can only rarely be used. because a current zero moment usually does not coincide with it when it passes through it once and that, on the other hand, complicated means have to be used to implement this mode of operation. This last-mentioned disadvantage is exacerbated by the fact that in this mode of operation, in order to bring about the intended slowing down, forces must be generated which are opposite to the previous motive forces, i.e. H. the mechanism must be such that it brings about a reversal of forces.
An already known device, which only cancels or reduces the moving force, completely fails because the extinguishing zone is passed through at the maximum speed reached at the end of the acceleration path.
The invention relates to a gas pressure switch in which the above-mentioned disadvantages are avoided in that after the contacts have been separated, the movable contact reverses its direction of movement at least once, that is, is set in an oscillating movement. In this simple way the extinguishing capability of the switch is used to the full. In addition, this type of movement can be achieved with relatively simple means.
Since the movement processes of the gas pressure switch take place very quickly, correspondingly large inertial forces and energy occur. To avoid dangerous impacts, the movements of the masses must be elastically delayed. This can e.g. B. done by means of an air cushion, the masses are naturally set in oscillating motion. The Druekgasschalter non-essential means, such. B. Liquid dampers are not required here. The oscillating movement can, for. B. but also be caused by the fact that the mass energy of the moving switch parts is at least partially given off to another oscillating mass. However, the shock must also be elastic in order to meet the preconditions for an oscillation.
The characteristic feature of the gas pressure switch according to the present invention is therefore the at least one swing back of the movable contact. Several oscillations can of course also occur. These can be strongly or weakly attenuated and have any frequency.
FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawing shows, in the form of a curve, an example of the course of movement of the contact element of a compressed gas switch according to the present invention. The time is plotted as the abscissa, the stroke as the ordinate. With 1 is the switch-on position, with. 3 denotes the switch-off position and 2 denotes the permissible extinguishing area in which the oscillating movement is triggered and runs as shown.
The oscillating movement of the contact element can be generated by various means.
FIGS. 2 and 3 show two exemplary embodiments, according to which the oscillating movement occurs

pneumatic way is achieved. In both figures, 5 denotes a contact actuating rod, 4 its guide and 6 a piston, which is also used to turn on the switch by means of the pressure
EMI2.1
Disconnection is open, with 9 a stop and 12 with a weak spring, which always presses a disk 11 against the stop 9, which is facilitated by the game 10 during switching.
The switch-off force can be generated, for example, by gas pressure on the piston 6. A related device is not shown in the drawing.
In the case of the switch according to FIG. 2, the change in the direction of movement takes place through the impact of the movable contact on an air cushion, which stores the energy of the moving masses and partially returns them to them. The oscillating movement of the contact becomes very strong in particular when the cylinder 7 is under pressure before it is switched off. When the valve 8 is opened, the upper part of the cylinder is emptied, while the lower part of the same remains closed by the plate 11 acting as a valve and which consequently, after the piston 6 hits with full pressure, delays and reverses the movement of the contact element. After the drop, there is a second impact, whereupon the same process is repeated.
If the upper edge of the piston 6 falls below the stop edge 9 later, the lower part of the cylinder 7 is also emptied and the downward movement of the movable contact to the switch-off position can proceed unchecked.
The movement of the contact from the extinguishing position to the switch-off position can also be initiated by a special control, through which z. B. the pressure in the cylinder can be reduced.
In the switch according to FIG. 3, part of the kinetic energy is transferred to a mass 14 which is movably mounted in the lower part of the cylinder 7 and which is given a corresponding speed in the event of an elastic impact. The elastic impact can be caused by a small gas cushion or z. B. can be achieved by a spring. This switch according to FIG. 3 also has a powerful effect when the cylinder 7 is at atmospheric pressure before it is switched off. The energy of the moving oscillating mass can be absorbed by any fixed or pneumatic buffer at the end of its stroke, since a specific movement pattern no longer has to be observed there.
In many cases, especially with suitable ratios of extinguishing stroke to final stroke, an appropriate swinging back movement can also be achieved by means of a simple cylinder without any installation, e.g. B. with the help of the cylinder that is already present when the switch is pneumatically operated, with the desired oscillation of the oscillating system consisting of gas cushion and moving mass by suitable dimensioning of the gas outlet 8 from the cylinder or the ducts intended for the gas inlet above the piston can be granted. The outflow or throughflow openings can be adjustable to facilitate adjustment. Due to this very simple arrangement, pronounced oscillating movements are obtained with ease.
The main purpose of adjusting the openings for the gas outlet or inlet is to avoid excessive oscillation. In contrast to this, it is extremely difficult to achieve a reasonably useful, non-swinging movement with such simple arrangements.
