Pre-chamber for diesel engines.
The invention relates to an antechamber for diesel engines and their cooling and consists on the one hand of adapting the temperature conditions of the antechamber and injection nozzle to the requirements necessary for proper operation and, on the other hand, of achieving simple manufacture and assembly as well as a particularly convenient arrangement of the antechamber inserts. For this purpose, the antechamber consists of several parts screwed together, which are jointly inserted into a bore in the cooling water jacket, partially enclosing the injection nozzle and held in place by the latter. The injection nozzle is arranged in such a way that it can be removed without draining the cooling water.
Such an antechamber is z. B. shown in the drawing.
It is here a the cylinder space, b the cooling water jacket, which is closed to the outside by the wall b1 and contains a housing extension b2 surrounding the antechamber, c the antechamber arranged obliquely and eccentrically to the cylinder axis, d the injection nozzle and e an glow coil.
The prechamber housing consists of the three parts f, g and h, which are screwed together and inserted together in the cylinder head. Part f comprises the prechamber floor containing the opening i after the main combustion chamber, part g the core piece k and the funnel-shaped outer cylindrical part which receives the fuel jet and is connected to the core piece k by webs. The upper part h of the prechamber encompassing the main space of the prechamber is extended upward in the shape of a sleeve and encloses the lower part of the injection nozzle d. It is centered in a bore of the cylinder head, with the sleeve-shaped part surrounding the injection nozzle being directly surrounded by the cooling water.
All three parts f, g, h of the prechamber are held in their position by the injection nozzle d by means of screws (not shown in the drawing). The parts, especially part g, can be separated from the wall of the cylinder head by insulating spaces.
The piece h seals the cooling water jacket on the one hand against the antechamber at m1 and on the other hand to the outside at m2, so that the injection nozzle can be removed without draining the cooling water.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Pre-chamber for diesel engines with an insert piece enclosing the pre-chamber and the injection nozzle, characterized in that the insert (f, g, h) is directly cooled by the cooling water on the part surrounding the injection nozzle (d) in the form of a sleeve, which the pre-chamber (c) the comprehensive part of the insert, on the other hand, is cooled essentially only indirectly via the cylinder head wall (b2) surrounding it.
