Clamps for connecting panels, in particular for glass panel structures.

The invention relates to a clamp for connecting panels, in particular for glass panel structures, in which resilient metal strips are provided on the U-shaped legs, which clamp the panels inserted into the legs and thereby hold them in place.
 EMI1.1
achieved by the glass plate pushed into the clamp legs.

A few exemplary embodiments of the invention are illustrated in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows a clamp designed according to the invention in a perspective view, Fig. 2 is a section along the line a-b of Fig. 1. Figs. 3-5 show further embodiments of the invention
 EMI1.2
cut U-shaped legs 1, 2 and 3 formed. On one surface of the legs, e.g. B. on the upper surfaces of the legs 2 and 3 and on a side surface of the leg 1, substantially rectangular openings 4 are provided through which resilient metal strips, z. B. steel strips 5, are drawn in a wave shape (Fig. 2).

If the glass plates are now inserted between the surfaces of the legs, they will through
 EMI1.3
be made resilient material, but it can be made of any rigid material and therefore kept much cheaper. However, the clamp can also, as before, be designed to be resilient, so that the clamping effect brought about by the legs is added to the clamping effect exerted by the metal strips.

The embodiment according to FIG. 1 is to be used for those points of a glass plate structure in which three glass plates 6, 7, 8 are to be connected to one another (FIG. 6), with two plates 6 and 7
 EMI1.4
lie on the same side of the plane formed by the backs 1 ', 2' and 3 'of the legs. A bracket B is useful at some connection points (Fig. 3). in which the thighs. '2 and. 3 on the one hand and the leg 1 on the other hand lie on different sides of said plane.

Such a clamp comes into consideration when, for example, a cantilevered horizontal plate 10 is to be attached to a vertical plate 9 (FIG. 6). Shall'mr two plates 11, 12 forming a right angle with one another are connected to one another along the common contact edge. so

The clamp according to the invention can of course also be used for purposes other than the construction of glass plate frames and for the releasable connection of any plates or the like.

The resilient metal strips can also be arranged along the entire legs on one or both surfaces of the same or only at certain points of the legs. It is also possible to use a wave-shaped spring which is entirely accommodated between the leg parts of a pair of legs.
