The colors used are, for example, pigment colors, which are finely distributed in relatively easily volatile liquids. For example, in volatile aliphatic ketones in these insoluble colors are finely suspended and the suspension is applied to cork linoleum, if necessary using mechanical aids adapted to the type of pattern to be produced, and if desired also caused by devices known per se to penetrate its pores and capillaries, whereupon the liquid phase is removed in a suitable manner and the dye is fixed by adsorption on the surface of the mass particles composing the linoleum mass.

By applying different colors one after the other, a gradual transition between the neighboring colors can be achieved, so that the pattern has extremely soft, interlocking color tones, which give the product an appearance similar to the printed textile and silk fabrics.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the production of patterned linoleum, characterized in that more or less fine-grained linoleum with an open surface is coated with a suspension of color pigments in non-film-forming liquid and the liquid phase is then removed again in a suitable manner.

**WARNUNG** Ende CLMS Feld Kannt Anfang DESC uberlappen**. 2. Linoleum, consisting of a more or less fine-grained cork linoleum compound with an open surface, which, if necessary, including its pores and capillaries, is patterned with color pigments held by adsorption. ** WARNING ** End of CLMS field may overlap beginning of DESC **.
