Sprechmaschine für gemietete Schallplatten.
EMI1.1

Talking machine for rented records.
EMI1.1
A well-known way of selling plates for speaking machines is renting them for a fee that is determined by the length of the rental. The tenant is free to play the borrowed records as often as he likes and it is therefore likely that the records will be badly worn after just one rental period. The rental fee must be calculated accordingly high; But since it can only amount to part of the price of the record, there is a possibility that the landlord may suffer damage despite the high fee. In many cases, the tenant will also be harmed if he plays the records little or not at all during the rental period, be it because he misses the opportunity or does not enjoy the selected records.
The circumstances mentioned mean that the rental of speaking machine records has not found widespread use.
The economy of the record rental would be given for both parties, if the rental fee could be brought into line with the duration of the actual use of the record.
This object is achieved within the meaning of the invention in that a self-collecting machine known per se is used as the speaking machine, and that the organs provided on the plate and on the machine for centering and supporting the plate are removed from the normalized organs either by abnormal dimensions or differ due to abnormal design and arrangement. In this way, the borrowed records can only be played on the self-collecting machines that are under the control of the landlord.
It is already known to use organs other than the normal peg to support and center the plate. However, this abnormal arrangement has not yet been used on self-collecting machines.
The drawing illustrates exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention in representations which only show the central part of the plate and the turntable.
According to FIG. 1, the disk 1 has a central hole 2 which is larger than the hole 3 of the usual disks indicated by dashed lines, and the turntable 4 has a pin 5 of the same diameter as the hole 2.
The pin 5 and the pin hole 2, as shown in FIG. 2, can also be made smaller than the corresponding organs in the normalized apparatus, which are indicated with dashed lines.
Panels according to FIG. 2 can be produced from normal panels by inserting an eyelet 20 in the existing hole, the type of fastening eyelets, the edge of which is flanged (FIG. 3).
According to FIGS. 4 and 5, the pin hole of the plate is bridged by a web 6 and the pin is provided with a slot 7.
The web 6 can be made of metal and cemented into the plate, as shown in FIG. 6. The web is expanded here in the middle, the purpose of which is to make it impossible to redesign a normal pin by filing. However, it is also expedient to let the size of the diameter deviate from that of the normal hole.
7 and 8 show another type of fastening of the web to the plate. The web 8 has the shape of a clamp, the leg ends of which are compressed to form rivet heads 9.
In the embodiments according to FIGS. 4-8, the normal peg is divided by the slot into two pegs, which are at least partially in its area. But you can also move the two pins or the pin holes further apart. One way of transforming normal panels into panels with two mortises is to use the existing center hole, e.g. B. by putty and to re-drill the two mortises.

therefore aids are provided to prevent the misalignment. You either have to provide the turntable with a recess 12 in which the disc 11 can be placed (FIG. 9) or one
Use the type of bayonet lock, as shown in FIGS. 11 and 12.
Here the usual central pin of the machine is replaced by a disc 13 which has a recess 14 into which the disc 11 fits exactly. The pegs 15 have a constriction 16 and the holes in the plate consist of two adjoining parts, a hole 18. whose diameter is equal to the pin diameter, and a slot 19 which is as wide as the pin constriction.
Due to the bayonet lock, the plate is firmly clamped in the middle part and can therefore not tilt in the event of an eccentric load. The embodiment according to FIGS. 11 and 12 makes a radical modification of the conventional speaking machines necessary. However, this is advantageous for the purposes of the invention because it reduces the risk of fraudulent use of the lent plates.
