Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Process for the production of artificial marble.
In the process that has become known for the production of artificial marble, for example, the changes that are natural to real marble are produced by simultaneously pouring several differently colored, pulpy mortar masses onto a glass plate using pouring devices divided into chambers. It is also known to produce artificial marble from burnt magnesite, alum and chlorine magnesium solution with the addition of dyes.
In the method according to the invention it was assumed that the production of the artificial marble would have to take place in accordance with the formation of the natural marble; the new method is therefore carried out in such a way that differently colored mortar masses are stacked in any container and poured out of this onto the highest point of an inclined glass plate.
To carry out the new process, one part of caustic burned and finely ground magnesite and three parts of fine stone flour are mixed. This dry mix is divided according to the number of colors you want. The separated mixtures are now mixed with the appropriate cement colors. The individual colored mixtures are mixed with an alum-chlorine magnesium solution to form viscous pulps.
The individual, differently colored pulps are sifted, stacked in a bowl and poured out of this onto the highest point of a sloping glass plate. The differently colored mortar layers overlap and, by being evenly distributed over the glass plate, create a molding with continuous veining that can hardly be distinguished from that of natural maimor. The plate is now left for three days in a room with a constant temperature and a draft-free temperature of around 160 ° C. The panes of glass are then lifted off the plates and the edges of the plates are ground with a smelting stone.
