<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Electric tassel device with motor drive.
The invention relates to a bell ringing device operated by an electric motor of the type in which, on the one hand, the working current of the motor is switched off by one or two automatic switching devices before the end of the swinging movement of the bell and, on the other hand, the motor shaft rotates backwards from the bell by reversing its movement becomes.
The invention is characterized in that the holding device has two control bodies temporarily connected by frictional engagement, one of which is coupled to the motor shaft, while the other control body is to be transferred into the switching position by the frictional engagement and held in this position until it is released by the former control body is provided with a contact that cooperates with a fixed contact. The subject of the invention has the advantage over known designs of greater simplicity and operational reliability.
In the drawing, which shows the subject matter of the invention, for example, FIG. 1 shows a side view of the entire device, FIG. 2 shows an end view, FIG. 3 shows a section through the pendulum arm of the switching device on an enlarged scale, FIG. 4 shows a schematic view, FIG. 5 shows a Plant with turning motor and two cable drives, Fig. 6 schematically a detail. The bells and pulleys are shown too small in relation to the drive and control device.
1 is a bell which hangs on the yoke 2 which carries a pulley 3. The latter is connected by an endless transmission link formed from rope 4 and chain 5 to the chain wheel 6 of a shaft 7 on which a gear wheel 8 is attached, which is in engagement with a pinion 9 of an electric motor 10. The parts 6, 7, 8 form a reduction gear which is carried by a box 11 which supports the motor 10. On one side of the box there is a switching device for the working current of the motor, driven by the shaft 7, chain 12 and sprocket 13, which is significantly reduced. The device has a drive shaft 15 mounted at 14, on which a cam segment 16, which forms a control body, is fastened so as to be adjustable in the circumferential direction.
The cam serves as part of a friction gear, which is supplemented by an exchangeable friction jaw 17 (FIG. 3), which plays axially in a pendulum arm 18 which is rotatably mounted on the axis 15 and which represents a second control body. The friction jaw 17 is mounted so that it can be adjusted and is under the action of a spring 19 which holds it in the working position or presses it against the friction cam 16. Its movement in the direction of the cam 16 is limited by a stop 20.
The free end of the pendulum arm has a contact pin 22 which is connected to a line 21 and which closes the circuit of the line 21, 24 when the fixed mating contact 23 is touched (FIG. 4). 25 denotes an adjustable stop which limits the automatic backward movement of the arm 18 brought about by a spring 26 into the rest position. The adjustment of the cam 16 and the stop 25 are means for changing the length of the frictional engagement between the two control bodies. 27 is a junction of the line 21 provided with a manual switch 28 and used for starting.
The device works as follows: According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the individual parts of the system are in the rest position. To start the engine, the switch 28 is inserted for a moment, whereby current passes via line 27 into the motor, which starts up in the direction of the arrow drawn in FIG. 2 and moves the bell 1 to the left. At the same time, the pendulum arm 18 is driven by the friction notches 16 and jaw 17, the contact 22 of which touches the mating contact 23, whereby the motor receives current even when the switch 2S is open in the meantime until the cam J6 slides off the jaw 17,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
At this moment, the arm 18 snaps back into its initial position under the action of the spring 26.
The disruption of the power supply caused by this means that the motor does not accelerate the bell any further, which rather soon stops and swings back according to the small movement impulse received, changing the direction of rotation of the de-energized motor. This movement causes the cam 16 to run onto the jaw 17, u. Zw. Compared to the rest position shown in addition by a distance that corresponds to the movement of the swinging bell from the central position to the right. When the bell moves again, the direction of rotation of the motor is changed again. Shortly afterwards, the contact 22 moved by the friction gearing 16, 17 closes the circuit, which now remains closed longer in relation to the first contact closure, so that the bell swings out higher.
The resulting greater back oscillation path of the bell after the reversal of movement now again produces a longer friction path between cam 16 and jaw 17, from which a larger drive pulse again follows. This game continues until the bell has reached its usual rash, whereupon the steady state occurs.
It can be seen from the mode of operation that the motor begins to develop its power when the bell has completed its movement reversal, and that it ceases to output power when the bell swings out, i. H. shortly before the motion reversal. The adjustable design of the cam 16 or the stop 25 enables the switching device to be adjusted quickly, so that the bell device can be easily adapted to the respective conditions.
29 (FIGS. 1 and 2) represents a weight used to compensate for the braking effect of the motor, which is provided in the vertically arranged cable 4, 5 between the motor pinion and the bell-shaped pulley. In order to obtain the smoothest possible drive for the bell, the sprocket 6 is connected to the shaft 7 by a body arranged in the sprocket hub, e.g. B. by a spring 30, positively connected (Fig. 6).
According to FIG. 5, the invention is expanded to the extent that, in connection with a turning motor Jl, two pendulum arms offset by 180 are provided, preferably on a common drive axle 15, in order to drive the bell after each reversal of movement. This arrangement can also be provided for small bells, the masses of which are not large enough to swing far enough to the other side with only one-sided drive.
In such systems, it is also advisable to use two cables between the motor and the bell, which are intended for both directions of movement. The part of each cable drive that does not directly transmit the motor train is designed to be resilient by engaging a spring 32.
The non-compliant part then serves to transfer the movement from the chain wheel 6 to the pulley J without slipping, while the part provided with the spring 32 prevents undesirably high stresses occurring between the shafts 2, 7.
