connects with the adjoining room c and in the open position (Fig. 6) the filling of the casting mold b under the lower column pressure of the boiler room c allows, also a third position (Fig. 7) can take to freeze the freshly cast plates under the allow the whole column pressure of the boiler.
In the further embodiment according to FIGS. 8 and 9, part of the tank contents is separated above the cock plug cl, so that a filling space c is created which can be connected to the casting mold b by the cock plug d and is connected to the tank contents through openings e . When the cock plug cl is opened, the filling space c is immediately emptied into the casting mold b, the level of the metal in the filling space c dropping. When metal flows in from the kettle a, the filling space c fills up again, so that the plate solidifies in the casting mold under the total pressure of the kettle contents until the stopcock is closed again.
Finally, the invention can also be implemented in such a way that an ordinary melting vessel without an adjoining space is provided with a closing element which, when opened, initially comes to a standstill in such a position that the metal is strongly throttled when it flows into the casting mold, but afterwards When the mold is filled, it opens further and thus allows the full column pressure of the melting pot to act on the cast body unabated.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Method for casting stereotype plates u. Like. Under the pressure of the melting material located in the melting vessel, which is controlled by a closing element, characterized in that the melting material flows into the casting mold under a lower dynamic pressure than the static pressure of the entire metal column as a result of only partial utilization of the melting material column results.
