Einzylinder-Kolbendampfmaschine für wechselnden Gegendruck-und Koudensationsbetrieb.
EMI1.1

Single-cylinder piston steam engine for alternating counter-pressure and coupling operation.
EMI1.1
Patent No. 118926 relates to single-cylinder piston steam engines for alternating back pressure and condensation operation, which are set up for both cocurrent and countercurrent operation. According to the parent patent, shut-off devices are built into the outlet line of the direct current slots and the controlled outlet valves. which alternately either, for condensation operation, the outlet line of the direct

give.
Such a steam engine system can be perfected in that the cylinder has a row of slots on each side, each of which has a shut-off device in the outlet line. These shut-off devices are dependent on the shut-off devices that belong to the same cylinder side and are built into the outlet lines of the outlet valves.
While the system according to the parent patent only offers the option of either having the entire machine work on condensation or on counter pressure, this perfection offers the option of having one cylinder side work on condensation and the second on counter pressure. This is important when only part of the possibly available back pressure steam is required for useful purposes.
In the drawing, an embodiment of this invention is shown.
As with the subject matter of the parent patent, the cylinder 1 is provided with controlled inlet valves 2. 3 and controlled outlet valves 4. 5. In the outlet lines of the.
Control valves 4, 5, shut-off valves 7, 8 are arranged. Instead of one row of slots for the direct current mode of operation, two rows of slots 6 and 15 are provided here. The shut-off devices 9 and 14 are built into the outlet ducts in question, and a common line 12 connects to both of them. which leads to the capacitor. The shut-off devices 9 and 7 on the one hand and 14 and 8 on the other hand are so interdependent. that one of the associated organs is open and the other is closed. The valves can be mechanically, hydraulically or electrically connected to one another, but changeover valves or the like can also be used. The dependency is indicated in the drawing by dashed lines.
If both sides of the cylinder are to work on condensation, organs 9 and 14 will be open and organs 7 and 8 will be closed. If both sides work with counter pressure, 9 and 14 are closed, 7 and 8 are open. If one side of the cylinder works on condensation and the other on counter pressure, either. 9 and 8 open and 7 and 14 closed, or 14 and 7 open and 9 and 8 blocked. The lines 10 and 11 lead to the counter pressure consumption point.
