Description

  Method of recording sound films.

With the recording process for sound films that has been customary up to now, the difficulty often arises in placing the recording microphones in such a way that they do not appear in the film image, but on the other hand result in an acoustically perfect recording of the sounds. As is well known, the latter can only be achieved then. when the microphone is in a correspondingly close proximity to the sound source.

The present invention provides a method which overcomes these difficulties. It consists in first making a sound recording using the light, needle or magnetic sound method at the same time as the film recording, without taking any background noise and sound quality into account, so that only provisional, because it is contaminated, is provided with background and interference noises Sound carrier receives.

A final and acoustically high-quality, completely pure sound carrier is then produced in such a way that, expediently with simultaneous presentation of the film recordings, the actors of the film are in a soundproof, closed room, to whom the synchronous, provisional sound recordings are simultaneously fed through headphones , Microphones that are set up at an optimal distance can be discussed again. The synchronism of this second, final sound recording with the film image can therefore be ensured in two ways.

On the one hand acoustically, in that the person speaking to the microphone hears his role through the headphones, and on the other hand optically, in that he simultaneously sees the corresponding lip movements in the synchronously running film image. However, the method not only has the advantage of acoustically high-quality recording and the usability of the film studios customary up to now, but it also represents a technical advance in the following other directions.
