Verfahren zum Tränken von Kabeln u. dgl.
Die Kessel, in welchen Kabel, Rohre, Jute, Bänder, Gewebe od. dgl. getränkt werden, sind durch Heizschlangen oder Doppelmantel von den Kesselwänden her geheizt. Die Tränkmasse zeigt demnach in der Nähe der Wand stets eine andere Temperatur als im Kesselinneren. Die zu tränkenden Gegenstände (Kabel, Rohre, Bänder u. dgl.) sind einem Temperaturaustausch durch Konvektion hinderlich ; der Temperaturaustausch durch Wärmeleitung allein genügt aber wegen der geringen Leitfähigkeit der in Betracht kommenden Stoffe nicht. Die Tränkmasse zeigt daher stets unerwünschte Temperaturunterschiede. Aus dem gleichen Grunde können sich einmal entstandene lokale Konzentrationsunterschiede in der Tränkmasse nicht ausgleichen.
Mit Hilfe eines Kessels nach Patent Nr. 113 262 ist es möglich, derartige Konzentrations-oder Temperaturunterschiede während des Tränkprozesses auszugleichen, ohne dass besondere Vorrichtungen, wie z. B. Rührwerke od. dgl., in den Kessel eingebaut werden müssen und ohne dass der Kessel geöffnet zu werden braucht. Man verfährt dabei zweckmässiger Weise so, dass man den Kessel in Drehung bringt, sodann die Drehung verlangsamt oder stoppt oder in eine Drehbewegung in umgekehrtem Drehsinne verändert. Dieser Vorgang wird zweckmässig mehrmals wiederholt, gegebenenfalls eine grosse Anzahl von Malen.
Hiebei werden die Tränkmasseteilchen zufolge ihrer Trägheit an den Stellen vorbeigeschleudert, an welche sie zu Beginn der Drehbewegung an lagen, und es treten neue Masseteilchen an ihre Stelle, wodurch selbst an Stellen, an welchen die Masse ringsum zwischen zu tränkenden Teilen liegt, ein Austausch stattfindet.

The boiler, in which cables, pipes, jute, ribbons, fabrics or the like are soaked, are heated by heating coils or double jackets from the boiler walls. The impregnating mass therefore always shows a different temperature near the wall than in the inside of the boiler. The objects to be soaked (cables, pipes, tapes, etc.) prevent a temperature exchange through convection; the temperature exchange through thermal conduction alone is not sufficient because of the low conductivity of the substances in question. The impregnating mass therefore always shows undesirable temperature differences. For the same reason, local concentration differences in the impregnation mass that have arisen cannot even out.
With the help of a boiler according to patent no. 113 262, it is possible to compensate for such concentration or temperature differences during the impregnation process without the need for special devices, such as. B. stirrers od. The like., Must be installed in the boiler and without the boiler needing to be opened. It is expedient to proceed in such a way that the boiler is made to rotate, then the rotation is slowed down or stopped or changed to a rotary movement in the opposite direction of rotation. This process is expediently repeated several times, if necessary a large number of times.
