Fig. 3 zeigt eine Draufsicht der

1 bezeichnet einen auf der Betriebsmittelleitung 2 (z. B. Druckwasser) angeordneten Hahn.

Automatic hydraulic press for hat molding.
The subject of the present invention is an automatic hydraulic press for forming hats, in which the plate of the press serving to receive the material to be treated is moved by a hydraulic piston from bottom to top against a fixed hat block. This press is essentially characterized in that, after the piston has been lifted at its stroke end, the operating medium acting on the piston is first directed to another piston that rotates a sealing and locking ring between the plate and the hat block and then in the hat block itself for pressing the hat to be treated, whereupon the drainage of the operating medium and the moving back of the organs into the starting position is made possible by setting a drain cock.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is illustrated schematically, u. Between Fig. 1 shows the press in front view and Fig. 2 in side view. Fig. 3 shows a top view of the

ringes. FIG. 4 shows a detail of a piston and FIG. 5 shows a device for ensuring the automatic action in longitudinal section.
1 designates a tap arranged on the operating medium line 2 (e.g. pressurized water). The line 2 leads to a cylinder 3 under the piston 4 which is movable in the latter and protrudes under a plate 5 carrying the usual hat shape 6. The hat shape 6 is guided by means of two movable rollers 7 on a special guide rail 8 attached to the machine frame 9; the latter has an inclined part followed by a vertical part. 10 is the usual block attached to the machine frame. The piston 4 is solid and, at its upper stroke end, exposes openings 11 in the cylinder wall 3, which are in communication with an annular chamber 12 (FIG. 4).
The annular chamber 12 (FIG. 1) is connected by a line 13 to a smaller cylinder 14 in which a piston can be displaced, the outer end of which acts on a ring 15 rotatably seated on the mold 6. The latter has protruding lugs 16 which, under the action of the piston, engage in grooves 17 of the clamps 18 carried by the block 10. The cylinder 14 is designed similarly to the cylinder 3 and is connected to the block 10 by a line 19. A further line 21 extends from the latter and projects through a valve 22 to the line 2 and a drain cock 23.
The mode of action is now as follows:
The pressurized water or other pressure medium admitted through the tap 1 reaches the cylinder 3 and closes the valve 22 (with the tap 23 being closed). The piston 4 is moved with the plate 5 and the mold 6 upwards.
After the mold 6 has reached the upper end of the stroke and has therefore come into contact with the block 10, the piston 4 releases the openings 11, and the operating fluid enters the smaller cylinder M, whose piston rotates the ring 15 and thus in its brackets 18 closes. The hat press is now closed.
Similar to the piston 4, the piston of the cylinder 14 releases openings through which the operating

After the hat has been formed, the tap 23 is opened, whereby the water opens the valve 22 and flows out.
After the pressure in the block 10 has dropped to the external air pressure, the piston of the cylinder 14 with the ring 15 is in its initial position by a spring, not shown

Suitable sealing rings 24 are provided.
In the described press, the inlet cock 1 must first be opened for each operation and then after the action of the two pistons and the filling of the block 10 with operating fluid, the same must be closed again and finally the drain cock 2.3 opened to empty the press. To have to

By means of the device illustrated in FIG. 5, the action of the machine takes place completely automatically.
According to this device, the pressurized water or any other pressurized medium passes through the line 2 'into a valve body 27, the valve 26 of which is connected by a spring. H loaded piston 29 is firmly connected, the spring 31 by means of a screw. 32 is adjustable.

a spring 39 which can be adjusted by means of a screw 40, the valve 37 also serving to control the inlet opening of a line 41 (double-acting valve). The two pistons 29, 38 are each movable in a cylindrical body 42 or 43, the two bodies being connected to one another above the piston by a line 44 from which a drain line 45 with a tap 23 ′ is branched off. By means of a needle valve 46, pressurized water is introduced into the two cylinders 42, 43 via the pistons.
Since the spring 34 is weaker than the spring 39, the device acts as follows:
In the position indicated in FIG. 5, in which the individual organs are at the beginning of an operation, the two valves are in the upper position, with the valve 28 releasing the opening 33 and the valve 37 releasing the opening 36 and the discharge 41 closes. The cylinder spaces 30, 30 'above the piston and the line 44 are under atmospheric pressure. and the tap 23 'is closed.
The pressure medium is admitted through 2 ', flows into 27, 3.3, 34 and fills the chamber 47 of the second valve. The pressure medium then flows through 3a to the press. where it fulfills its various functions. During this process, the needle valve 46 has made it possible to gradually increase the pressure in 30, 44, 30 ', which means that the time dependent on the setting of the needle valve

Water is prevented, and the individual organs of the press are automatically moved back to their starting position.
To initiate a new operation, 23 'is opened: this increases the pressure in 30, 44, 30', the springs 39, 31 are relaxed and the individual organs are moved back into the position shown in FIG.
The machine described has the following main advantages:
1. Automatic light work without exertion on the part of the worker operating the machine.
2. Increased yield.
