Coil spring for ball valves.
The invention relates to coil springs. which are intended to serve as compression springs in valves in which the spring-loaded valve body consists of a ball which interacts with a conical or differently shaped seat and is lifted from this seat by the pressure of the means monitored by the valve.
The loading springs used in such valves so far exist for
EMI1.1
The spring therefore tries to move the ball to the side, and when the ball is then brought back onto its seat due to the pressure of the means. so it does not move in the axial direction of the seat, but along one side of the tapered bore representing the seat, if it is a tapered seat. As a result, however, the movement of the ball will experience a resistance as a result of the friction in this hole and, in addition, the ball and the seat will be on the side. where the touch takes place. exposed to wear and tear. The valve acts more slowly than intended. and leakage may occur as a result of wear.
These disadvantages are now eliminated by the invention. The invention orders that the spring is countersunk conical or spherical at one end or at both ends. so that a conical or spherical seat is formed by one or both end turns. whose center is on the axis line of the spring.
In the drawing, a longitudinal section of a valve arrangement is shown, which contains two ball valves connected in series, u. between the one with a loading spring more commonly used (Tattung and the other with the new loading spring.
The valve arrangement shown for example in the drawing consists of an outer housing 1 in the form of a sleeve with a cylindrical bore and two inner housings 2, 3,

Selon a slight lateral displacement of the ball, as it is assumed in the drawing, where P denotes the center of the laterally displaced ball, has the consequence that the ball during its reciprocating movement in the conical bore 6 along one side the hole slides. Their movement is therefore retarded due to the friction, and so is the ball
EMI2.1
Ball in the seat is endangered and thus leakage can occur when the valve is closed.
The spring 11 is designed according to the present invention in that it is countersunk spherically at its ends. In the drawing it is assumed that the center of the spherical countersink is on
EMI2.2
The ball 9 is therefore always held in such a way that its center point lies exactly on the line 1--1. A lateral displacement of the ball can therefore not occur, even if it is lifted from the seat by the means, as shown in the drawing.
EMI2.3
Axis line coincides with line A.
So that one or the other end of the same can be directed against the ball when inserting the spring. both ends of the spring can be countersunk in the manner indicated above.

be of a different shape. For example, it can simply consist of the sharp edge of a smaller diameter hole.
