Description

  Schalldämpfer für Brennk n'aftmaschinen, Dampfmaschillen H. dgl.

   Die Erfindung hat einen Schalldämpfer für   Brennkraftmaschinen,   Dampfmaschinen u. dgl. zum Gegenstande, bei welchem die Gase von der Maschine durch das Auspuffrohr in einen gelochten Zylinder eintreten und hier durch eine   Trennungswand,   deren mittlerer Teil als Kegel mit der Spitze gegen die Stromrichtung ausgebildet ist und nur kleine Öffnungen für den Durchgang der Gase hat, gestaut und gezwungen werden, durch die Öffnungen in der Zylinderwandung in den Mantelraum des Schalldämpfers zu treten ;

  Silencers for internal combustion engines, steam machines H. the like.

   The invention has a muffler for internal combustion engines, steam engines and. Like. On the subject, in which the gases from the engine enter a perforated cylinder through the exhaust pipe and here through a partition wall, the middle part of which is designed as a cone with the tip against the direction of flow and has only small openings for the passage of the gases, are jammed and forced to pass through the openings in the cylinder wall into the shell of the muffler;

   there the gases are again dammed up through the partition wall just formed here, pass through individual openings in the same into the jacket space of the silencer located behind the partition wall and enter a second perforated cylinder, whose diameter and length are larger, but whose perforations are smaller than that of the previous cylinder; from here the gases pass through a number of tubes fixed in the sealing cap that reach into the cylinder. The pipes or the spaces between them cause the formation of a gas cushion, which contributes significantly to the damping.

   In the drawing, Fi shows'. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the silencer and FIG. 2 shows a section along the line A-B.

   The muffler ordered from the housing 1, the two covers 2 and. 3, which are held together by screws 4, from the narrow and short cylinder 5 with large holes, the long and further cylinder 6 with smaller holes than the cylinder 5, from the separating piece 7, the middle part of which is widened conically opposite to the direction of the gas flow and at this point has small holes, while the annular, flat part again has larger holes 9, as well as from the tubes 10, which extend into the interior of the large cylinder 6 and are fastened in the cover 3.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Silencers for internal combustion engines, steam engines and. Like., characterized by a narrow and short cylinder (5) with large holes and a subsequent further and long cylinder (6) with small holes and by a partition (7) between the two cylinders, the central part of which is conical with the tip against the Gas flow is formed and has small perforations and the flat part of which is provided with large perforations outside the cylinder, whereby the gas flow is dammed up once and for the most part deflected to the outside and passed on from here after further damming and entering the second cylinder from the outside is forced.
