Straightening system for machine guns or the like horizontally pivotable target devices on aircraft rudders.

The present invention relates to a straightening system for machine guns or the like, horizontally pivotable target devices on aircraft fuselages which are equipped with two circular rings intended for one machine gun or the like at the same height above the deck of the fuselage.

The invention consists in that the two concentric rings are mounted on the aircraft fuselage or at most on balcony-like widenings on both sides of the same just next to each other and separated or firmly connected, such that they can be horizontally pivoted or displaced

rifle pivoted in the usual way and the rings themselves are independent of one another or in a fixed connection with one another, either pivotable about an axis located outside their center points or else displaceable, whereby the advantage mentioned above can be achieved. This adjustability can be carried out in various ways. For example, as shown in FIG. 1, the two concentric rings b are mounted pivotably with one another by means of a common center hub bl about an upright pivot c located in the fuselage center plane.

Or, as shown in FIG. 2, the two rings b can be slidably mounted independently of one another on a circular path, the center of which lies approximately in the central plane of the aircraft, the rings b being guided on the inner surface of a ring d surrounding the path .

As shown in FIG. 3, the two rings b can be gold-plated one behind the other and can be displaced independently of one another across the flight direction in transverse guides e arranged on the aircraft fuselage.

As shown in FIG. 4, the rings can also be displaceable on both sides of the central plane of the aircraft independently of one another, parallel to the latter, in corresponding longitudinal guides t.

As finally shown in FIG. 5, the rings can also each be made by means of an attachment arm or flange? be pivotable independently of one another about upright pivot pins g, which are arranged symmetrically on both sides of the central plane just next to one another.

The straightening systems shown in FIGS. 1-4 can be arranged on aircraft fuselages of conventional design, while the system according to FIG. 5 requires two symmetrical, balcony-like side projections a1 of the fuselage. Incidentally, the systems according to FIGS. 1-4 can also be arranged on such projections.
