Container, in particular box or barrel and method of manufacture
The invention is based on the object of creating a lightweight and, at the same time, resistant container (barrel, crate, etc.). According to the invention, this is achieved in that the components of the container (e.g. jacket, lid) are made of plywood and metallic building materials, the layers of which are firmly bonded to their contact surfaces (e.g. by gluing, cementing or the like) are.
Building materials combined from cellulose and metal are used in automobile and aircraft construction as body materials and the like. Like. Has already been used. Barrels and boxes made of a building material which consists of cellulose-containing and metallic layers have not yet been produced. Occasional wooden barrels and tea boxes have been provided with a metal insert loosely inserted in a wooden vessel, whereby both the wooden container and the metal insert always had to be transported to the point of consumption as lumpy goods.
The invention eliminates these inconveniences by making the transport of the components in a flat manner with the selection of certain materials, peculiar manufacturing methods and connection of the components

permitted at the point of consumption.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing. Fig. 1 is a cross section through the component used to produce a barrel jacket. FIG. 2 is a top view of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 illustrates a horizontal section of the barrel jacket made from the elements according to FIG. Fig. 4 is the component for manufacturing the lid. Fig. 5 shows the pressed lid, Fig. 6 shows in cross section a barrel made from these components.
1 is a board made of plywood. 2 is a metal plate. The plywood layer 1 and the

connected. The protruding edges of the metal plate can, if necessary, have certain cutouts 3 for a purpose to be explained later. The plywood metal sheets, which are used to create the bottom, shell and lid of the container, are shipped in layers in a stack. At the shipping point for the finished filled containers, the lids and bottoms are then formed in series by pressing from the panels, then the jackets by means of their own machines by bending and rolling (FIG. 3). The connection of the abutment surfaces 4 of the plywood layer 1 takes place drnch gluing, cement and the like. like
The abutting edges 5 of the metal layer 2 are bent up, placed against one another and tightly connected to one another in some way (e.g. soldering, welding). Then the bottom is inserted into the jacket in the manner shown in FIG. The metallic supports of the jacket and the bottom lie against one another, so that at these points by welding, Ve1'lötung u. Like. A tight connection between the jacket and the floor can be made. The sections mentioned earlier allow this. 3 Insert the base and cover to the correct depth without the base or cover touching the bent or folded connecting edges protruding into the inside of the barrel.
