Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Beim Eindringen in Wicklungen, z.

Device to protect electrical system parts, such as transformers, against surge waves.
In electrical power transmission systems, the overvoltages that run over the line as so-called traveling waves with steep foreheads are particularly dangerous. When entering windings, e.g. B. from transformers, such traveling waves cause dangerous voltage differences between the winding parts.
This risk of jumping waves is eliminated by flattening the steep heads of such waves. For this purpose, according to the invention, the long-distance line is made from conductors with a high current displacement over a relatively short distance before it flows into the stations in which the apparatus to be protected, such as transformers, are located. A conductor made of magnetic building material can advantageously be used for this purpose.
If the entire conductor cross-section is not magnetic, small, central cross-sectional parts can consist of non-magnetic material. In an arrangement according to the invention, the known steel-aluminum cables are not sufficient for the desired flattening of the forehead of the traveling waves. Both in the case of cables and overhead lines, in particular the outer part of the conductor cross-section must be made of magnetic material, e.g. B. iron ropes exist.
The length of the lines consisting of conductors with high current displacement depends on various circumstances, in particular on how high the current displacement of the conductor is in the case of high-frequency alternating current. In general, lengths of iron wire as long as 50 m are effective. It will only seldom be necessary to produce cables with a high current displacement of more than a few hundred meters.
