Mixture preheater for Brennliraftinaschineii.
The present invention relates to such mixture preheaters for internal combustion engines in which an electrical resistance heater consisting of heating wires is provided in the passage of the mixture. In particular, the invention relates to a particularly advantageous guidance of the heating wires. The previously known preheaters of this type had certain disadvantages which impaired their long-term operability. One of these disadvantages is based on the disadvantageous guidance of the heating wires. So these are in one of the known designs in zigzag over the
EMI1.1
However, clumps become brittle and destroyed after a relatively short time.
In other designs, the heating wires are laid completely in the passage itself in the form of spirals, which means that they have little mechanical resistance.
In contrast, the present invention now has a heating wire guide for the subject, which

draws. Both are achieved together in that, on the one hand, the wires are arranged in an extremely resistant manner and, on the other hand, leave a central passage for the strongest flow of the mixture, which for the durability of. is of great value. For this purpose, the heating wires are arranged in U-shaped turns in an intermediate flange in such a way that each of the individual turns is fastened with both legs in the flange. They then lie next to each other in its passage, distributed all around, so that most of the cross section is covered by the heating wires

a sufficient passage remains free.
The subject matter of the present invention is explained in more detail in the drawing in an exemplary embodiment: FIG. 1 is a front view of the flange with the electrical heating; Figures 2 and 3 show a longitudinal section and a cross section through the device.
According to the invention, the heating wires a of the electrical heating device are bent in a U-shape and are, for. B. in two or more layers next to each other. They are fixed in the intermediate flange b in such a way that each U-shaped turn a is fastened with both legs in the flange b and therefore offers great mechanical resistance, but nevertheless heats a substantial area. The turns a are distributed all around in the passage of the flange b, but are only radially inward so far that a central passage c still remains free.
The shape of the turns a is arbitrary in detail.
The heating wires are in the usual, unspecified manner, for. B. heated by the battery power.
