Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  X-ray tube with Hochyakuu1l1 for diagnostic purposes.

   In the case of x-ray tubes containing gas, it is known to provide the anticathode opposite the cathode with a funnel-shaped cavity to protect against undesired x-rays from reaching the outside. In the known X-ray tubes, however, the effect of this protective agent is for the most part canceled out by the fact that, as a result of the arrangement of the cathode in front of the funnel, which is necessary for gas-containing X-ray tubes, cathode rays from the cathode also hit the anticathode funnel, its outer wall and the anticathode stem and there cause X-rays that reach the outside and cause damage.

   According to the invention, as is shown schematically in an exemplary embodiment in the figure, in the case of an X-ray tube a whose electrode lines are at, preferably right angles to one another and in which the anticathode? Bell-shaped and at the same time X-ray absorbing, the cathode c is attached within the cavity of the bell, the X-ray cone to be made usable passing through the incandescent body of the hot cathode c, for example ring-shaped or helical, practically without striking it.

   This arrangement of the cathode enables the bell-shaped design of the anti-cathode to exert its protective effect without impairment.

   The cathode support d is frustoconical, u. although designed in such a way that it itself and a bead ring e holding it largely absorbs the X-rays that may arise outside the focal point t on the anticathode.

   With the new X-ray tube, as is desired to achieve a small, sharply delimited focal point on the anticathode, the hot cathode c can be brought very close to the anticathode mirror located on the bottom of the bell cavity.
 EMI1.1
 are inclined to each other and whose anticathode is bell-shaped, characterized in that the cathode, which allows the usable X-ray cone to pass through, lies within the bell.
