Fig. 1 zeigt den Längsschnitt eines Trockenzylinders, bei welchem die zylindrische Mantelinnenfläche 1 durch Rippen oder wellenförmige Erhöhungen 2 derart verschen ist, dass der sich gebildete Wasserring. 3 einen Teil der Rippenkörper oder der Erhöhungen 2 zur direkten Berührung des im Innern des Zylinders befindlichen Heizdampfes frei lässt. 



   Diese Heizrippen im Zylinderinennern sind vorteilhaft so anzuordnen, dass das sich an der tiefsten Stelle des Zylinders ansammelnde Kondensatwasser einer bestimmten Stelle, von wo die Kondensatabfuhreinrichtung für die Entfernung desselben sorgt, zufliessen   kann.   



   Fig. 2 zeigt diese Anordnung, bei welcher die Heizrippen 2 am Zylindermantel   I   spiralförmig verlaufend ausgebildet sind, wodurch das Kondensatwasser wie mittels einer Förderschnecke gegen eine Abzugstelle befördert wird.

Fig. 1 shows the longitudinal section of a drying cylinder in which the cylindrical inner surface 1 is given away by ribs or wave-shaped elevations 2 in such a way that the water ring formed. 3 leaves part of the rib body or the elevations 2 free for direct contact with the heating steam located inside the cylinder.

   Fig. 2 shows this arrangement, in which the heating ribs 2 on the cylinder jacket I are formed to run in a spiral, whereby the condensate water is transported as by means of a screw conveyor against a discharge point.
