flooding and hardening agent, are removed. In the same way, if you clap for color printing, the clap color is removed.

In the process described, the plate material is not attacked, and the way in which used plates can be reused is therefore simplified. It is sufficient to remove the printing ink with turpentine, petroleum, benzene or the like and then to treat the printing plate with lye if it is made of stone or zinc, or with dilute sulfuric acid if it is made of aluminum. There is no need to regrind the stone or re-grain the metal plate; Metal plates, the grain of which has been lost in places through scraping or has become dull through frequent use, must, however, be grained again.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Planographic printing process of lithographic stone. Metal etc., whereby the printing plate already carrying the drawing (transfer printing) is to be protected against the absorption of ink in the areas free from drawing by treatment with a non-etching agent, characterized in that the printing plate is treated successively with two agents, the first of which creates a coating that adheres firmly to the printing plate, but at the same time also forms a substrate that ensures the adherence of the top layer consisting of the second agent, with a mixture of a colloid suspended in water (e.g.

Gum arabic, agar-agar, dextrin or the like) is used with a substance (gallic acid, chromic acid, formaldehyde, tannin or the like) that hardens or tans it.

Claims (1)

2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that coagulated albumin, a glue or gelatin solution, a mixture of a colloid suspension with a silicic acid salt (water glass) or the like is used for the intermediate layer. EMI2.2 Define the layer from the printing plate. 4. 4. In the method according to claim 1, the use of the mixture of a Kolloidaufsehwemmung with a holding or giving substance for removing hues or gossip color from places that are free from the drawing or should remain free.
