Process for the production of spinnable fibers.

Patent No. 97288 relates to a method of making spinnable fibers from fibers having an unsatisfactory spin structure, i.e. i.e. that are either too short, not twisted or kinked or not rough enough to provide a sufficiently durable flow and a sufficiently durable roving and yarn during the spinning process. The fibers are made more spinnable by having a
Roughening of the surface, combined with kinking and twisting of the fibers is carried out.

This effect is achieved in that the fibers with sharp-edged structures such. B. glass powder,
Carborundum powder, infusoric earth, etc., in wet or dry state using
Stirring, fish, grinding or centrifuging devices, sling mills, shredders, grinders, shredders, openers, pressing or tampering devices, fans or other devices which are suitable for bringing the raising agents into the necessary contact with the fibers . Due to the sharp edges of the grains, the fibers are kinked and twisted and the surface roughened. After
Treatment can, if it appears necessary, the sharp-edged structures, provided they do not adhere to the fibers, excreted and used again.

Wood pulp and cotonized fibers are named as such fibers in the patent, i.e. H. Fibers isolated from the original plants by strong chemical influences. This treatment destroys and removes considerable amounts of the original plant due to the chemical influences. This has a very unfavorable effect on the spinning structure of such fibers.

It has now been shown, and this forms the subject of the present invention, that the method of the patent surprisingly also with very particular success for natural fibers, such as nettle (all nettle species from the botanical family of Urticaeeae, e.g. Urtiea
Dioica L and Boehmeria nivea), kapok, furthermore for cotton of various kinds and similar fibers as well as for synthetic cotton (cotton, linen or other regenerated from webs or fabrics
Fibers), silk, animal hair, etc. Like., As well as for synthetic fibers such as rayon, staple fiber and. Like. Can be used.

This is because in this way the spin structure of the treated fiber is considerably improved.

The yarns, fabrics and textile goods made from them gain new and valuable properties, e.g. B. greater tensile strength, greater softness and a better volume.

The raw materials used (glass powder, carborundum powder, infusor earth, etc.) are many times harder than the fibers; its microscopically fine grains have extremely sharp corners and edges and thus ensure good roughening of the fiber surface.
