Hammer mill.
EMI1.1

arises like this. a club of generally octagonal cross-section, the alternate sides of which form cutting surfaces, each cutting surface having a plurality of cutting edges located in and between the ends of that surface.
The clubs are thus adjustable or displaceable and rotate with the shaft J 0, the disks 18 and links 20, working between the side walls 11 of the housing in the chamber 28. In the lower part of the latter there is a semi-cylindrical sieve,. '). The curved housing wall parts 30, 31 extend up over the two side edges of the sieve.
The wall part 31 extends forward over the more sharply inwardly curved part 30, so that a task (opening 3/2 is created in which the inner end of the feed table 33 is hinged at 34 in order to be able to introduce the ground material into the grinding chamber Table 33 is adjustably supported at 35 and the material placed on it reaches the grinding chamber, whereby it is regulated by a skirt 3ü which hangs from the upper front end of the upper wall 31 over the table 33 of the housing.
In the grinding chamber the material is processed by the beaters and the ground material is conveyed through the holes of the sieve 29 into the lower receiving end 37 of the suction line 16, u. either directly into the suction channel through the part whose upper wall is cut off at 38 between the side walls 77 of the housing, or against inclined outlet plates 39 in front of and behind the sieve 29, one of which is shown in section in FIG . The lower ends of the outlet plates extend into the receiving end 37 of the suction line.
Furthermore, according to the invention, the suction channel 16 has a rectangular cross-section and gradually narrows from the further upper end, which is connected to the housing 13 of the fan or blower, to the relatively wide flat receiving end 37. In the latter there is a flap 40 (FIG. 1 ) intended. If this flap is closed, then air together with the ground material is conveyed down through the housing of the mill; if this flap is open, however, it allows the air to enter the outermost end B'1 of the suction channel directly.
In doing so, it is of considerable advantage, in the case of some types of goods, e.g. B. very light goods to close the suction channel and other types of goods such. B. heavy goods to leave the suction channel open.
It has been shown that the described shape of the suction channel eliminates any risk of clumping and ensures a uniform effect, even with the greatly increased amount of ground material that is caused by the multi-edged clubs according to the invention. In the relationships indicated, the present invention represents a substantial improvement of the previous grinding mills of a similar type, but without complicating the construction of the mill or making it more expensive.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Beater mill with beaters rotating together around the drive shaft and individually rotatable about their own axes parallel to the drive shaft, each of which has a number of grinding surfaces on the outside of the circumference, characterized in that each beater has an opening provided with recesses in the middle and each grinding surface has a number of transverse grooves, between which cutting edges are left, the sides of the outline of the hammer and the straight lines surrounding the recesses at the central opening of the hammer expediently running parallel.
