Machine gun with interchangeable barrel.
The subject of the invention is a device on easy machine guns without water cooling, which allows the exchange of the hot barrel in the simplest way by four handles without changing the position of the gun.
The drawing shows: FIG. 1 the machine gun in the firing position in a side view, partially in longitudinal section; 2 and 3 show the cross-section according to I-I of FIG. 1 in two different positions. 4 shows the barrel with the piston in a side view, partly in the longitudinal

The machine gun consists essentially of four main parts: 1. The barrel A including accessories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 2. The housing B, which contains the breech, trigger and feeder, and its end face a segment-shaped attachment ss and the . The pawl y carries, 3. the piston tube C, in which the working piston 14 is supported and guided. This

bound racks D.
After leaving the barrel muzzle, the bullet must still pass through the muzzle piece 2 and the damper 3.
The gases emerging from the muzzle immediately behind the projectile are stopped in the muzzle piece 2 and press on the working piston 14 guided in the tube C, whereby the spring of the working piston 14 is simultaneously compressed. This return movement of the working piston 14 then actuates the device located in the bearing housing B in a known manner, the spring being relaxed and the working piston 14 returning to its starting position, whereupon the process is repeated.
Lanf A is fastened in the corresponding nut thread of the bore of housing B by means of a few screw segments 1.
In order to be able to grasp the heated barrel for the purpose of replacement, it is provided with a holder 5 made of heat-insulating material, which can, however, be swiveled sideways by approximately 90 in order not to hinder aiming.
The mouthpiece 2, the damper 3 and the grain 4 are firmly screwed onto the barrel, while the piston tube is in the mouthpiece. 2 protrudes freely.
If now the hot barrel A and its accessories (Fig. 1) are to be replaced, after releasing the lock 7, the housing B is rotated to the right; the corresponding positions before and after the rotation can be seen from FIG. c) and FIG.
With this movement, the thread segments 1 of barrel A were also disengaged. Then you simply push the barrel completely out of the bearing by means of the barrel holder 5 in the axial direction forwards and let it cool down.

Now the cold reserve barrel is placed on the saddle 10 and pushed into the housing B as far as the stop zou and this is pivoted back to the left (FIG. 3). Here falls
EMI2.1
According to the invention, the barrels can be exchanged in a very simple and rapid manner with just a few movements, without the aid of any tools, and without the slightest change in the direction of the shot.
The piston tube C has an axially extending rib 15 which engages in a groove of the barrel reinforced at 16, which is intended to facilitate the insertion of the barrel into the bearing.
EMI2.2
serves on the one hand to hold the damper 3 and on the other hand allows the projectile to pass.
When firing with practice cartridges, remove the damper 3 together with the screw 18 and instead of the latter use one with a narrower bore in order to force the paper bullet through this bore and thus achieve sufficient gas pressure in the muzzle piece 2.
After a large number of shots have been fired, powder residues collect inside the muzzle. In order to be able to remove these from time to time, an opening 12 is provided in the mouthpiece, which is covered by the shovel-shaped end 1) (FIG. 4) of the tube C during the fire in order to prevent gas losses in the mouthpiece 2. After removing the barrel, the hole 12 remains open and therefore accessible.

From Fig. 8 shows the arrangement and activity of the lock 7, which must fall automatically due to the pressure of the spring-loaded bolt: 20 when the bearing is back in its
