Un aparato para tostar granos de café que comprende: un recipiente (1) para contener granos de café, un dispositivo térmico (12) para calentar granos de café contenidos en el recipiente, un sistema de control (180) operable para controlar el dispositivo térmico y configurado para aplicar una receta de tostado (R), en donde para una cantidad m personalizada de granos de café de tipo Nⁱ introducidos dentro del recipiente, el sistema de control se configura para obtener al menos la cantidad m de granos de café introducidos dentro del recipiente y el tipo Nⁱ de granos de café introducidos dentro del recipiente, y sobre la base del tipo Nⁱ obtenido, el sistema de control se configura para obtener acceso a al menos a una receta de tostado Rⁱ, dicha receta se adapta para el tostado de una cantidad M predeterminada de granos de tipo Nⁱ, y dicha cantidad M predeterminada, y sobre la base de las recetas de tostado Rⁱ accesible y a dicha cantidad m obtenida de granos de café introducidos dentro del recipiente, el sistema de control se configura para determinar la receta de tostado (R) que se aplicará a la cantidad m de granos de café de tipo Nⁱ introducidos dentro del recipiente.
