La presente provee un método para obtener cenizas nanoparticuladas de óxidos de actínidos y lantánidos, metales y no metales, que comprende los pasos de: i) preparar una solución o suspensión nítrica de nitratos y óxidos de actínidos y lantánidos, metales y no metales, ii) adicionar a dicha solución o suspensión nítrica del paso i) al menos un monómero o polímero con grupos funcionales acrilonitrilo (C₃H₃N), y iii) someter a tratamiento térmico la solución o suspensión nítrica del paso b) en atmósfera de aire a una temperatura entre 185ºC y 225ºC para obtener nanopartículas de óxidos de actínidos y lantánidos. Adicionalmente, la presente provee un método para la obtención de monolitos que emplea el método de la reivindicación 1, que comprende agregar a la solución o suspensión nítrica de nitratos y óxidos de actínidos y lantánidos, metales y no metales de la etapa i) una matriz vítrea, vitrocerámica o cerámica en forma de polvo con un rango de tamaños de partícula de 1 - 100 mm a la solución nítrica, ii) adicionar a dicha solución o suspensión nítrica del paso i) al menos un monómero o polímero con grupos funcionales acrilonitrilo (C₃H₃N), iii) someter a tratamiento térmico la solución o suspensión nítrica del paso b) en atmósfera de aire a una temperatura entre 185ºC y 225ºC para obtener nanopartículas de óxidos de actínidos y lantánidos, iv) sinterizar a temperaturas en el rango de 610 - 825ºC o fundir a temperaturas en el rango 1100 - 1300ºC la mezcla resultante de la etapa iii) en atmósfera de aire a presión atmosférica, y en caso de sinterizar, v) compactar uniaxialmente a temperatura ambiente para formar un monolito.
