Abstract
Se describe en la presente descripción un método para clasificar un lote de material vegetal como que está contaminado o no contaminado que comprende: (i) proporcionar una muestre de polinucleótido del lote de material vegetal; (ii) poner en contacto la muestra de polinucleótido con uno o más cebadores de amplificación para amplificar una secuencia de polinucleótidos objetivo asociada con la esterilidad; (iii) realizar una reacción in vitro de amplificación de polinucleótidos en la muestra para generar uno o más productos de amplificación, (iv) determinar el tamaño o la secuencia del(de los) producto(s) de amplificación, y (v) basado en el tamaño o la secuencia del(de los) producto(s) de amplificación determinados en la etapa (iv) comparar el tamaño o la secuencia del(de los) producto(s) de amplificación con el tamaño o la secuencia del(de los) producto(s) de amplificación conocidos de fuentes genéticas de esterilidad conocidas; en donde si la fuente genética de esterilidad determinada en la etapa (v) corresponde a la fuente genética de esterilidad esperada del lote de material vegetal, entonces dicho lote de material vegetal se considera no contaminado; o en donde si la fuente genética de esterilidad determinada en la etapa (v) no corresponde a la fuente genética de esterilidad esperada del lote de material vegetal, entonces dicho lote de material vegetal se considera contaminado. Reivindicación 8: El método de conformidad con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones anteriores, en donde el lote de material vegetal que va a clasificarse es material vegetal de Nicotiana tabacum y en donde la fuente genética de esterilidad esperada es la esterilidad masculina citoplasmática de Nicotiana suaveolens, Nicotiana glauca, Nicotiana bigelovii, Nicotiana plumbaginifolia, Nicotiana megalosiphon o Nicotiana undulata, adecuadamente, Nicotiana suaveolens o Nicotiana glauca.
