Abstract

Se describen métodos para preparar composiciones de recubrimiento termosellado a base de agua, que incluyen (A) mezclar en estado fundido un copolímero de etileno-acetato de vinilo, un agente de pegajosidad y una cera en un primer aparato mezclador para formar una mezcla fundida, (B) poner en contacto la mezcla fundida con una corriente acuosa inicial que comprende un agente neutralizante, agua y un tensioactivo en una zona de emulsificación del segundo aparato mezclador para formar una dispersión, y (C) diluir la dispersión con agua en una zona de dilución del segundo aparato mezclador para formar la composición de recubrimiento termosellado a base de agua. También se describen métodos para preparar composiciones de recubrimiento termosellado a base de agua, que incluyen (A) mezclar en estado fundido un copolímero de etileno-acetato de vinilo, un agente de pegajosidad y una cera en una zona de transporte y mezclado de un aparato mezclador para formar una mezcla fundida, (B) poner en contacto la mezcla fundida con una corriente acuosa inicial que comprende un agente neutralizante, agua y un tensioactivo en una zona de emulsificación del aparato mezclador para formar una dispersión, y (C) diluir la dispersión con agua en una zona de dilución del aparato mezclador para formar la composición de recubrimiento termosellado a base de agua, en donde la relación de longitud con respecto a diámetro del aparato mezclador de extrusión es mayor de, o igual a, 12 a 1. También se describen las composiciones de recubrimiento termosellado a base de agua elaboradas de acuerdo con los métodos descritos.
