Abstract

Compuestos, métodos y composiciones farmacéuticas para reducir la cantidad o la actividad del ARNm Tau en una célula o un animal, y en determinados casos, reducir la cantidad de proteína Tau en una célula o un animal. Estos compuestos, métodos y composiciones farmacéuticas son útiles para mejorar al menos un síntoma de una enfermedad neurodegenerativa. Estos síntomas abarcan pérdida de memoria, pérdida de función motora e incremento de la cantidad y/o el volumen de inclusiones neurofibrilares. Las enfermedades neurodegenerativas abarcan tauopatías, enfermedad de Alzheimer, demencia frontotemporal (FTD), FTDP-17, parálisis supranuclear progresiva (PSP), encefalopatía traumática crónica (CTE), degeneración corticobasal ganglionar (CBD), epilepsia síndrome de Dravet.
