Abstract
Se provee un proceso para producir de manera estable y segura ácido acético, sin aumentar la presión interna de la columna de destilación; el proceso comprende (1) un paso de reacción de carbonilación para dejar que el metanol reaccione con monóxido de carbono; (2) un paso de evaporación instantánea para separar la mezcla de reacción en una fase volátil y una fase menos volátil; (3) un primer paso de destilación para separar la fase volátil en una primera cabeza y una corriente de ácido acético crudo rica en ácido acético; y (4) un paso de separación para separar por lo menos acetaldehído de la primera cabeza; el paso de separación (4) comprende (6) un segundo paso de destilación para destilar la primera cabeza, controlando al mismo tiempo la presión interna de la columna de destilación provista de una unidad de control de presión 68 para formar una segunda cabeza rica en acetaldehído y yoduro de metilo y una corriente de fondo o inferior, y (7) un paso de extracción para extraer acetaldehído de la segunda cabeza para formar un extracto rico en acetaldehído y un refinado rico en yoduro de metilo.
