Abstract
Se divulgan dispositivos de codificación y decodificación para codificar los canales de un sistema de audio que tiene al menos cuatro canales. El dispositivo de decodificación tiene un primer componente de decodificación estéreo que somete un primer par de canales de entrada a una primera decodificación estéreo, y un segundo componente de decodificación estéreo que somete a un segundo par de canales de entrada a una segunda decodificación estéreo. Los resultados del primer y el segundo componente de decodificación estéreo se acoplan en forma cruzada a un tercer y un cuarto componente de decodificación estéreo y cada uno realiza la codificación estéreo en un canal resultante del primer componente de decodificación estéreo y un canal resultante del segundo componente de decodificación estéreo.
