Abstract

El presente se refiere al campo de los elementos gráficos y se dirige a una capa de efecto óptico (OEL), a un dispositivo y a un método para producir ese efecto. Además resuelve el problema de proporcionar un efecto óptico que sea fácil de detectar como tal y exhibe un movimiento aparente de rasgos de la imagen que depende del ángulo de visión, dentro de una longitud extensa, si cambia el ángulo de visión con respecto a la OEL. Este objetivo se consigue proporcionando una OEL que consta de un material ligante que es, por lo menos de modo parcial, transparente y una pluralidad de partículas dispersas dentro de la capa. Cada partícula tiene reflectividad no isotrópica y puede ser magnética o magnetizable. La orientación de las partículas forma un patrón de orientación que se extiende toda una longitud dentro de una superficie extendida de la OEL, de modo tal que en una primera sección transversal de la mencionada OEL, considerablemente perpendicular a la mencionada superficie extensa y lo largo de la mencionada primera dirección x, el promedio local de un ángulo comprendido entre (i) una recta a lo largo de una dimensión más larga observada dentro de la correspondiente forma en corte transversal de esas partículas no esféricas que se intersecan con esa mencionada primera sección transversal, y (ii) la mencionada primera dirección x varía de acuerdo con una función (q) de una posición (P) a lo largo de la mencionada primera dirección, función que es la suma de una primera función (q₁) que aumenta o disminuye en forma monótona, de la mencionada posición y una segunda función (q₂) alternativa de la mencionada posición. También se da a conocer diversas variaciones de dispositivos y un método para producir la OEL.
