Abstract

Planta de sorgo que comprende en su genoma al menos un polinucleótido, en donde el polinucleótido codifica una subunidad mayor de AHAS (sintasa acetohidroxiácida) que tiene una sustitución de alanina por treonina en la posición 93 de la sub unidad mayor de AHAS de sorgo o en una posición equivalente. La planta tiene resistencia incrementada a uno o más herbicidas, por ejemplo del grupo de las imidazolinonas, respecto de las plantas de sorgo salvajes. La planta de sorgo puede comprender en su genoma, una, dos, tres o más copias del polinucleótido que codifica a la sub unidad mayor mutada de AHAS o polipéptido AHAS de sorgo de la presente. En este contexto la planta de sorgo puede ser tolerante a cualquier herbicida que inhiba la acción de la enzima AHAS, por ejemplo, la planta de sorgo puede ser tolerante a herbicidas el tipo de las imidazolinonas, por ejemplo imazetapir, imazapir, imazapic e imazamox.
