Abstract
Se revelan composiciones de cemento y métodos de síntesis. Al disminuir la materia prima rica en Ca en una composición de cemento, el contenido de Alita (Ca₃SiO₅) por tonelada de cemento producido puede ser mitigado. La Alita es el componente de mayor intensidad de energía y contaminante entre los ingredientes del cemento. Al disminuir este componente, el proceso puede reducir potencialmente la huella ambiental y el consumo de energía tanto como el 12% por tonelada de cemento. En una forma de realización, la relación promedio de Ca/Si en la pasta de cemento endurecida puede reducirse de ~1,7 a ~1,5. Esto corresponde a una reducción de aproximadamente el 12% en el contenido de Alita por tonelada de cemento producido. Las composiciones de cemento además pueden caracterizarse como cementos hidratados de estado sólido que incluyen una pluralidad de cadenas de silicato, donde la pluralidad de cadenas de silicato incluyen una pluralidad de dímeros que constituyen por lo menos alrededor del 60% de la pluralidad de cadenas de silicato presentes en el cemento hidratado de estado sólido, donde la pluralidad de dímeros mejoran la resistencia del cemento hidratado de estado sólido. Dichos cementos hidratados de estado sólido además pueden exhibir una estructura molecular periódica formada de la pluralidad de cadenas de silicato, por ejemplo, estructuras de tipo anillo.
