Abstract
La presente se refiere a métodos, composiciones y aparatos para detectar de manera precisa la presencia y cantidades de contaminantes en aguas residuales. El método comprende los pasos de agregar a un volumen de agua residual al menos una molécula indicadora, observar el indicador para detectar contaminantes particulares, conducir al menos una segunda forma de detección de contaminación, e interrelacionar las dos propiedades medidas a fin de identificar la composición específica de la contaminación. El uso de una molécula indicadora permite detectar aceites y grasa que de otro modo serían difíciles de observar. El uso del segundo método, sin embargo, compensa la interferencia provocada por los contaminantes al indicador y permite efectuar lecturas más precisas. La presente incluye la introducción de elementos químicos funcionales en respuesta a las detecciones y la conducción de detecciones en-línea y de manera constante.
