Abstract
Reivindicación 1: Un ácido nucleico aislado, caracterizado porque comprende un polinucleótido que codifica un polipéptido del receptor PYR/PYL mutado que comprende una o más sustituciones de aminoácidos en un bolsillo de unión al ligando y/o una interfase de unión a la proteína tipo 2 fosfatasa (PP2C) en comparación con a polipéptido del receptor PYR/PYL de tipo salvaje, en donde el receptor PYR/PYL mutado se une a PP2C en la ausencia de ácido abscísico.Reivindicación 18: Un casete de expresión, caracterizado porque comprende un promotor ligado operativamente al polinucleótido de cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1 - 17, en donde la introducción del casete de expresión en una planta da como resultado que la planta tenga un receptor PYR/PYL que se une a una proteína tipo 2 fosfatasa (PP2C) en la ausencia de ácido abscísico. Reivindicación 25: Una planta, caracterizada porque comprende el casete de expresión de cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 18 - 23, en donde la planta presenta una actividad PP2C significativamente inhibida en la ausencia de ácido abscísico. Reivindicación 27: Una semilla, una flor, una hoja, una fruta, un alimento procesado o un ingrediente alimenticio, caracterizados porque son de la planta de la reivindicación 25. Reivindicación 29: Un método para producir una planta que tiene una tolerancia al estrés mejorada, caracterizado porque dicho método comprende: introducir en una pluralidad de plantas un casete de expresión, donde el casete de expresión que comprende un promotor ligado operativamente a un polinucleótido que codifica un polipéptido del receptor PYR/PYL mutado que comprende una o más sustituciones de aminoácidos en un bolsillo de unión al ligando y/o una interfase de unión a la proteína tipo 2 fosfatasa (PP2C) en comparación con un polipéptido del receptor PYR/PYL de tipo salvaje, en donde el receptor PYR/PYL mutado se une a PP2C en la ausencia de ácido abscísico; y seleccionar una planta que expresa al polinucleótido entre la pluralidad de plantas. Reivindicación 30: El método de la reivindicación 29, caracterizado porque el polipéptido del receptor PYR/PYL mutado comprende una o más sustituciones de aminoácidos correspondientes a las sustituciones de aminoácidos H60P/G/R/A/W/I/K/V/M, V83F/L/P, I84Q/E/P/H/K, L87F, A89W, M158T/C/V/l, F159V/A, T162F, L166Y/F o K170W en PYR1 como se muestra en la SEQ ID Nº 1.
