Abstract

Método para preparar carbón poroso con propiedades adsorbentes para usar en la filtración de humo, en donde el método comprende: pretratar un material de partida con una solución de álcali; eliminar la solución de álcali del material pretratado; y luego activar el material pretratado, en donde el material de partida es un precursor de carbón o un material de carbón microporoso. Preferentemente, la solución de álcali se elimina antes del paso de activación. La solicitud también provee un carbón poroso con microporos y mesoporos, y usos del mismo.
