Abstract

Se describe una composición del agente de expansión de espuma que incluye agua y una hidrohaloolefina de la fórmula: CF3CX=CHY, en donde X se selecciona del grupo que consiste de H, Cl y F, e Y se selecciona del grupo que consiste de H, Cl, F, CF3 y CF2CF3. Se describe, además, una composición formadora de espuma que incluye la composición de agentes de expansión de espuma de esta descripción y un compuesto que contiene hidrógeno activo con dos o más hidrógenos activos. Se describe, además, una espuma de polímero de poliuretano y poliisocianurato de celdas cerradas preparada a partir de la reacción de una cantidad efectiva de la composición formadora de espuma de esta descripción y un poliisocianato adecuado. Se describe, además, un proceso para producir una espuma de polímero de poliuretano y poliisocianurato de celdas cerradas. El proceso comprende reaccionar una cantidad efectiva de la composición formadora de espuma de esta descripción y un poliisocianato adecuado. Se describe, además, un proceso para usar la espuma de polímero de poliuretano y poliisocianurato de celdas cerradas de esta descripción. El proceso comprende usar esa espuma de polímero a una temperatura no mayor que aproximadamente el punto de ebullición normal de la hidrohaloolefina que se usa en la preparación de la espuma de polímero.
