Abstract

Un método para monitorear y en forma opcional controlar la adicion de uno o más aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie para un proceso de fabricacion de papel. El método comprende los siguientes pasos: (a) agregar a un proceso de fabricacion de papel una cantidad conocida de uno o mas aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie ya sea solos o en una proporcion conocida con una cantidad conocida de uno o-mas trazadores fluorescentes inertes, donde los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie solo se pueden agregar solos cuando los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie son fluorescentes; (b) medir la fluorescencia de los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie y/o uno o mas trazadores fluorescentes inertes en un punto posterior al de adicion de los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie y después de que se ha formado la lámina, donde los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie solo pueden ser medidos cuando son fluorescentes y donde la fluorescencia se mide con un fluorometro de reflexion; (c) correlacionar la medida de fluorescencia de los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie cuando éstos son fluorescentes y/o los trazadores fluorescentes inertes sobre una lámina con la concentracion de los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie en un recubrimiento sobre una lámina y/o con el espesor de un recubrimiento sobre una lámina; y (d) en forma opcional controlar la adicion de uno o mas aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie a un proceso de fabricacion de papel ajustando la cantidad de los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie agregados al proceso de fabricacion de papel como respuesta a la medicion del espesor de recubrimiento sobre una lámina y/o la concentracion de los aditivos de acondicionamiento de superficie en un recubrimiento sobre una lámina.
