Abstract
Se describe un método para monitorear un recubrimiento aplicado a una superficie de metal. Específicamente, el método comprende lo siguiente: aplicar una composicion en sol a una superficie de metal, en donde dicha composicion contiene uno o más compuestos que contienen grupos alcoxisililo, un fluoroforo y un solvente; formar un recubrimiento gelado sobre dicha superficie con dicha composicion; medir la fluorescencia de dicho recubrimiento con un fluorometro, en donde dicho fluorometro es capaz de medir mediciones de emision reflejada fluorescente; correlacionar las fluorescencia de dicho recubrimiento con el espesor o el peso de dicho recubrimiento y/o con la concentracion de compuesto que contiene grupos alcoxisililo en la composicion de recubrimiento; y opcionalmente aplicar un recubrimiento adicional a dicha superficie de metal cuando el espesor del recubrimiento es inferior a la cantidad deseada o ajustar la concentracion del compuesto que contiene grupos alcoxisililo aplicada a dicha superficie.
