La presente divulga plásmidos funcionales en bacterias del género Acidithiobacillus, tales como las especies Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans y Acidithiobacillus caldus. Y un método para transformar en forma exitosa bacterias del género Acidithiobacillus tales corno las especies Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans y Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans y Acidithiobacillus caldus con dichos plásmidos.
