Abstract

Aparato, métodos y sistemas para una toma de muestras de semillas, en donde se conserva la viabilidad. Se tornan muestras individuales de semillas de una generación en un experimento de mejora de plantas retirando y recolectando tejido de la semilla mediante el uso de una herramienta portátil y operada manualmente que tiene uno o más bordes cortantes. El tejido es procesado luego para determinar una o más características bioquímicas, genéticas o fenotípicas de la semilla antes de decidir si se utilizará en un experimento de mejora vegetal o en la investigación y el desarrollo adicional de plantas. En algunas realizaciones del método, se controla la toma de nuestra para retirar una cantidad útil de tejido para fines analíticos sin un efecto significativo sobre la viabilidad potencial de la semilla muestreada. En otras realizaciones, se controla la toma de muestras para impedir la contaminación de la muestra. En algunas realizaciones, la semilla es sostenida en una orientación predeterminada para facilitar una toma de muestra eficaz y precisa.
